Schools & Large Buildings

There are two options for testing according to the standards.

1. Option 1 is to conduct a short-term test (3-4 days) and analyze the results. Once we get the results back, we would then have to conduct a follow-up test (also 3-4 days) in at least every room that came back at or above the action level of 4.0 pCi/L.

2. Option 2 is to conduct “Simultaneous Testing” where we place two samplers’ side-by-side in each room. The results are averaged together to get the result for that room. This method does not require a follow-up test to determine if mitigation is necessary.

Option 1 will cost $125 to start and for every required test location a fee of $50 will be applied. When conduction Radon measurement testing for Schools & Large Buildings there will be a initial consultation where we will need floor plans, hours of operation, and any information about the operating HVAC system or systems. If the HVAC system changes throughout the building we will need to know the times it is on and preset temperatures to make sure closed-building-conditions are met. We will provide testing instructions that follow all AARST/NRPP standards upon receiving the order. This will allow us to get together and gather all pertinent information before continuing with the measurement test.

Option 2 will cost $125 to start and for every required test location a fee of $50 will be applied. Similar to option one, when choosing option two we will place one device for every change in the foundation as well as a duplicate and a blank for every 20% of the total square footage. This will negate the need for any follow up testing as these test locations an be averaged together to calculate the total average of Radon per location. We will provide testing instructions that follow all AARST/NRPP standards upon receiving the order.
